Fund-raising and Donating

Help As with most voluntary-funded charitable organisations with no local or national government support, one of our biggest problems is raising money. We need to pay the rent on our premises in Havant's East Street, pay the utility bills, replenish our consumables such as stationery and other office supplies, and also maintain and occasionally replace our computers and recording equipment, as well as provide the boomboxes, cassettes and memory sticks that we send out to our clients. We are fortunate in having an enthusiastic and loyal volunteer base who provide their services unstintingly, but to provide a free service to our clients, all the other expenses have to be met.

Money is raised through fundraising events and donations. These provide a very welcome source of urgently needed funds. If you are able to make a donation, however small, your gift would be very much appreciated. We are also supported by generous donations from local businesses and sponsors. If you belong to a local business or community organisation and would like to make a charitable donation, please get in touch through our Contact us page. We will put an acknowledgement on this page.

The Friends of HBTN scheme provides the charity with much needed funds by way of an annual £10.00 subscription. If you would like to become a ‘Friend’ why not meet others like yourselves at our two annual social events. Learn more about the Friends of HBTN by visiting our Friends page.

You can view details about our charity by visiting the Charity Commission's webpage. Enter the Charity Number 1025556 into the 'Search for a charity' box on the page and click Search icon. An overview of our details will be shown, giving information on our financial returns.

Give as you Live

Give as you Live is a free and easy way to raise money for your favourite charity, just by shopping online. Once you've signed up, you can browse their website for the store you want to shop with. Click 'shop now' to go to their website, then continue to shop as normal. They'll then email you within 1-7 days to let you know how much you've raised.

Did you know that HBTN is a member of this scheme? You can generate money for HBTN just by shopping at the online stores you would normally use, sometimes as much as 2.5% of the transaction value. If you would like to take advantage of this scheme, we have prepared a short guide that tells you how to set it up, add your favourite online stores, and how to use it. It really is quite simple. Just read this guide - you can print it off to remind you. If you use one of the common browsers you can set up a Donation Reminder which puts a Give as you Live icon on your browser to search for a store or access all your favourite retailers.

To raise money for HBTN, don't hesitate, start right away and join 'Give as you Live'.
